The classes are taught at a moderate pace and are geared to include techniques for all levels of painters from intermediate to advanced. If you're in doubt of your ability, please call. Robert will be happy to discuss the classes with you. The classroom is located on the second floor of the historic grange hall and is roomy (25' X 55') and well lit. Table easels with individual lighting are provided and classes are limited to 24 students.

Seminar classes are from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a 45 - 60 minute lunch break. Classes may occasionally run later depending on the class. Coffee, tea and soft drinks are always available and the studio has a refrigerator and microwave for your convenience. Also, there are deli's and restaurants withing walking distance as well as numerous restaurants within 5 minutes of the Studio.

For those of you who arriving by air, you should fly into the Columbus Airport. We will be happy to arrange transportation from Port Columbus. Please send us your arrival information via email. We can also arrange daily transportation from The Canal Winchester Amerihost Inn to the studio.

Lodging and Location

The Art Loft Studio & Gallery is housed in a century old meeting hall in the small quaint village of Canal Winchester, Ohio located on State Route 33 four miles southeast of Interstate 270 ( the outer belt around Columbus) and just south of Interstate 70 on the east side of Columbus. Although an ever growing suburb of Columbus, Canal Winchester is still a friendly safe haven far from the hustle and bustle of the city. www.canalwinchesterohio.gov

There are numerous national chain hotels and motels in the Southeast (Brice Road) area of Columbus that are within easy driving distance. However, we recommend the Best Western (formerly Amerihost Inn) for convenience, safety and quality.

Best Western  614-834-4790 www.bestwesternohio.com/canal-winchester-hotels

6323 Prentiss School Road, Canal Winchester, OH

Closest to the Studio, this is the only motel that we can provide transportation to and from daily. It is just a 3 minute drive from the Amerihost Inn to the Studio. It is only a couple of years old and features an indoor pool, hot tub, exercise room, daily continental breakfast, and inside entry doors. Some rooms even feature micro-fridge units. It is located in a very safe area and is within walking distance to restaurants and a supermarket. You cannot call the toll free number or register online. You must call the above number and mention that you are attending a seminar and ask for the Robert Warren Art Loft corporate rate to receive a discounted rate of approximately $60.00 per day. (Normal rates are approximately $90.00)

Seminar Costs, Deposits, Cancellation Notices, Etc .

Because each seminar varies, costs for seminars are listed with each description. A deposit of $200.00 is required for each seminar.

As always, SEATING IS ASSIGNED BY THE DATE OF RECEIPT OF YOUR DEPOSIT, so get your deposit in early to reserve your place in class.  There are no bad seats, but some prefer to sit as close as possible to the front of the room. Remaining class balances are collected during the seminars. Full deposits are refundable in case of emergency only. For all other cancellations, credit of the same amount will be used towards future classes or supplies. In the event that Robert should cancel a class or seminar, all deposits may be refunded.

 Class Supplies

We carry a large assortment of art supplies. Anything required for the class is available for purchase. Instructions, photographs and full patterns are included in the cost of all seminars. In addition, sturdy table easels and brush cleaner are provided for studio use. Due to the variable sizes of the paintings, canvases may be purchased at an additional discounted cost.

SUPPLIES YOU NEED TO BRING: Brushes, oil paints, paper towels, pencils, paper, a large sheet of graphite paper, a palette or palette tablet and anything else you need to make yourself comfortable. As mentioned, canvases for the projects can be purchased at The Art Loft at a discounted cost.

Projects are currently formulated using Weber Prima Oil Paints. You are welcome to bring any brand of oil paints that you are currently using or purchase a "palette fee" for the paints being used for the projects. The Art Loft has a complete line of Prima Paints, brushes and any other necessary art supplies.

FLYING WITH YOUR PAINTS

Flying is safer today than ever, however, the new security measures do require a little more time not only at the airport, but also in packing. Due to uncertain and every changing restrictions, there seems to be no definite answers regarding packing oil paints. They definitely cannot be packed in your carry-on luggage. Therefore, if you would rather not attempt bringing oil paints, we can supply paint for a nominal "Palette Fee" Bring all of your other supplies in your checked luggage. We can also pack your paintings and ship them home for you at the end of a seminar.
